Registered Nurse PreOp-PACU

Job Summary
Conduct patient-centered care in the PreOp-PACU setting by assessing physical and emotional needs, implementing nursing interventions, and carrying out physician orders. Maintain accurate records of controlled substances, participate in inventory counts, and ensure work area organization and restocking. Report and complete risk identification forms for patient, visitor, or employee occurrences; report needed equipment or building repairs to the nurse manager. Implement safety procedures, participate in performance improvement activities including infection control and sterilization guidelines, and serve as the Surgery Center liaison with patients, physicians, and vendors.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of accredited school of nursing
- Currently licensed to practice in the State of Florida
- CPR certified (Healthcare Providers)
- ACLS certification
- Two years related nursing experience
- Knowledgeable of standard Medical Staff Privileges
- Knowledgeable and ability to respond to emergency situations; i.e., cardiac arrest, malignant hyperthermia, drug reactions, fire, etc.
- Knowledgeable of standard administrative, medical and nursing policies and procedures
- Ability to demonstrate cooperative work attitude toward and with co-team members, management, patients, visitors, and physicians
- Ability to maintain Continuing Education as required by the Florida State Board of Nursing
- Ability to obtain and maintain certification in CPR (BCLS) and ACLS
- Ability to respect a patient's right to privacy, dignity, and confidentiality
- Ability to understand and manage health care cost associated with the use of supplies

- Experience working with ophthalmic, general and plastic surgeries
