Registered Nurse PreOp PACU II, Part-Time - Birmingham Outpatient

Assess patient preoperative and postoperative status, including cardiovascular, respiratory, neurological, and hemodynamic stability. Interpret monitor data, apply scoring systems like Aldrete or PADSS, and develop individualized perianesthesia plans of care. Manage patient recovery from general, monitored, regional, or local anesthesia while administering medications safely and protecting patients from injury and infection. Provide acute pain management, maintain organ system integrity, and ensure normothermia at discharge. Educate patients and support persons on psychosocial responses, nutrition, and wound care; involve them in perioperative decisions. Document care accurately, provide hand-off reports, delegate tasks per state laws, and collaborate with other disciplines. Participate in quality review, performance improvement projects, and team meetings. Maintain required competencies and pursue professional growth.
