Registered Nurse - PreOp PACU

Check crash carts, oxygen tanks, and restock refrigerators to ready the Pre-Op, PACU, and Step-down areas for daily patient flow. Manage airway maintenance, vital sign stabilization, and safe emergence from anesthesia while administering pain and nausea control. Conduct pre- and post-operative phone calls, review anesthesia health histories, and perform physical assessments including temperature, weight, blood sugar, and pregnancy tests. Start IVs, assist with undressing, and provide perioperative education regarding patient rights, expectations, and discharge instructions. Document all interventions, drug administration, and nursing notes; manage hazardous waste and clean stretchers, bays, and equipment after each patient. Complete QA variance reports, attend staff meetings, and respond immediately to emergency situations such as cardiac arrest.
