Job Summary
Critical Care Transport Nurse responsibilities include providing Basic and Advanced Life Support during high-risk ambulance transport, monitoring patients with potential cardiac/respiratory needs, administering IV-infused medications, and managing ventilators. Works alongside EMTs to care for patients moving between hospitals/facilities. Duties emphasize adherence to treatment protocols and quality assurance, maintaining patient confidentiality, and communicating with the CCT Manager. Requires staying current with relevant certifications and licenses, and willingness to participate in ongoing education. Required Qualifications
- Minimum of two years of nursing experience in a critical care area relevant to the type of SCT transports the RN will provide (pediatric vs. adult) within the previous 24 months prior to employment as a transport nurse.
- California State Registered Nurse (unrestricted licensure)
- AHA BLS
- AHA ACLS
- AHA PALS
- NIH Stroke Scale (within 90 days of hire)
- TNCC, ATCN, PHTLS (within 6 months of hire)
- Emergency Room Critical Care or ICU: 2 years (Required)
- Two years of experience in a critical care environment (ER, ICU) in a large tertiary care facility that provides high acuity patients with a wide range of diagnoses.
