Job Summary
Registered Nurse-PreAssessment role responsible for overseeing intake, performing an initial physical assessment, interviewing patients to obtain medical history, and performing tests ordered by the surgeon (e.g., EKG, blood draws). Collaborates with the surgeon and anesthesia team to ensure the patient is ready for surgery. Administers medications per orders, educates patients and designated supporters about perioperative care, and documents findings thoroughly. Serves as a liaison between physician offices and the surgical team, develops individualized perioperative plans, and supports discharge planning. Maintains HIPAA compliance, adheres to the organization’s ethical standards, and contributes to quality nursing care and patient safety through accurate documentation and communication.
Required Qualifications
- RN license and certification as required by state
- BLS certification required, ACLS preferred
- CAPA preferred
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required
- 2 years' perioperative services experience preferred
