Job Summary
Plans, implements and evaluates nursing regimens for patients; collaborates with Physician and Health Team; serves as primary nurse and/or team leader in the delivery of nursing care. Responsibilities include assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating nursing care; admissions assessments; documenting care; maintaining patient privacy and dignity; ensuring safety; responding to emergencies; participating in performance improvement; providing patient education; maintaining infection control; discharge planning and coordinating with health team members; documenting in medical records and supporting staff orientation and committee participation.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, preferred
- Current license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State
- Minimum one to two years of experience in a hospital setting
- Prior pre-surg testing experience, highly preferred
- Able to function both clinically and non clinically
- Enrolled in an accredited BSN program within 24 months of employment if hired after Sept 1, 2010; obtain BSN within five years of employment
