Job Summary
Direct and coordinate nursing care for patients in the Ambulatory Surgical Unit, acting as a circulator, scrub, and educator. Assess patients, synthesize clinical data, and implement treatment plans while directing unlicensed staff activity. Teach patients and families, manage discharge planning, and ensure timely follow-up. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe care and achieve desired patient outcomes. Requires a current NYS RN license, BLS/ACLS/PALS certification, and ability to perform physical duties like lifting and standing during weekday shifts. Contact Tasha Dwyer for questions.
Required Qualifications
- Valid and current registration, NYS RN license
- Must possess the basic and advanced theoretical knowledge and practical skills
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification within the first 60 days of hire
- Must possess the physical ability to perform CPR
- Must possess the physical ability to bend
- Must possess the physical ability to lift
- Must possess the physical ability to stand
- Must possess the physical ability to walk
- Must be available for regular weekday shifts
Desired Qualifications
- Preferred minimum of two years of peri-operative nursing experience
- Demonstrates knowledge of growth and development across the life span and the ability to use that knowledge to individualize the plan and delivery of care
