Registered Nurse - Pre-Op/PACU (Per diem PRN)

Job Summary
Provide patient care to individuals in an Ambulatory Surgical Center setting by assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing interventions. Oversee and guide employees under supervision while ensuring adherence to physician orders and center policies. Maintain the standard of care for assigned patients and actively support the organization's mission. Requires a current RN license, CPR and ACLS certifications, and one year of surgical patient care experience. Preferred qualifications include two years in Medical/Surgical, ED, or ICU nursing. No call requirements; preferred availability is one to two days per week Monday through Friday.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State
- Current CPR certification
- Current ACLS certification
- PALS certification within 90 days of hire
- One year in pre-operative, intra-operative and post-operative surgical patient care
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common professional and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents
- Ability to respond to common injuries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community
- Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors
- Ability to read and communicate effectively in English
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of basic mathematics
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
- Demonstrates the knowledge and skills in the nursing process
- Demonstrates the ability to utilize recognized channels of communication
- Demonstrates the ability to maintain good interpersonal relationships with patients, co workers, and other health team members
Desired Qualifications
- Two years of experience in Medical/Surgical, ED, and/or ICU nursing
