Job Summary
Utilize the nursing process to provide patient care and maintain professional accountability for assigned patients at the Pre-Op/PACU unit. Evaluate the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct caregivers and coordinate patient care in conjunction with other departments. Maintain patient rights and confidentiality of patient information while performing duties consistent with Mercy Service Standards. Shifts include no weekends, holidays, or call. Requires obtaining and maintaining a current RN license within the hiring state or compact licensure. Position demands lifting 50 pounds regularly, prolonged standing and walking, and Basic Life Support certification within 30 days of hire.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited registered professional nursing program
- Current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure
- Meeting all state board of nursing requirements
- Ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis
- Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods each shift
- Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties
- Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire
