Job Summary
Utilize the nursing process to provide patient care for assigned patients at the Pre-Op/PACU unit. Maintain professional accountability for care provision and coordinate patient care with other departments while evaluating the effectiveness of care provided by direct caregivers. Perform duties consistent with Mercy Service Standards, ensuring patient rights and confidentiality are maintained. Obtain and maintain a current RN license within the hiring state or via compact licensure. The role requires pushing, pulling, and lifting 50 pounds regularly, along with prolonged standing and walking. Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited registered professional nursing program
- Current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure
- Meeting all state board of nursing requirements
- Ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis
- Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods each shift
- Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties
- Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire
