Registered Nurse - Pre-Op/PACU

Job Summary
Prepare Preop, PACU, and Step-down areas to safely receive and care for surgical patients. Provide pre-operative assessment, education, and emotional support while confirming key patient information such as allergies, medications, and consent. Start IVs, obtain vital signs, complete nursing assessments, and document care accurately following provider orders. Deliver post-operative care including airway support, vital sign stabilization, pain control, and patient education. Communicate with patients through pre-op and post-op phone calls and assist anesthesia providers with nerve blocks. Maintain clean, organized, clinical areas while participating in staff meetings, education, CQI activities, and incident reporting. Requires current Kansas RN license, CPR/ACLS/PALS certifications, and ability to stand five hours daily, lift over 20 pounds, and pull over 25 pounds.
Required Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse license in the State of Kansas
- Current CPR certification
- Current ACLS certification
- Current PALS certification
- Ability to stand and/or walk at least five hours per day
- Ability to lift and/or carry over 20 pounds on a regular basis
- Ability to push and/or pull over 25 pounds on a regular basis
