Registered Nurse, Pre-Admissions Testing (PAT)

Conduct comprehensive preoperative nursing assessments via telephone and in person, reviewing patient medical histories, medications, allergies, and current health status. Evaluate laboratory results, EKGs, imaging studies, and other required preoperative testing to ensure patients meet surgical readiness requirements. Identify patients needing additional medical clearance or specialist consultation and coordinate appropriate follow-up while communicating abnormal findings to surgeons and anesthesia providers. Educate patients on preoperative instructions, medication management, fasting requirements, and arrival times. Maintain accurate documentation within the electronic medical record and ensure compliance with Company policies, HIPAA, and infection prevention standards. Participate in quality improvement initiatives focused on enhancing patient safety and operational efficiency.
