Job Summary
Provide pre and post-operative patient education and physical assistance with patient transfers. Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to complete and review POP Nursing assessments, follow up on outstanding patient issues, and manage relief coverage on patient care units and the outpatient department. Actively participate in process improvements, educational activities, and research while maintaining current orthopaedic experience in joint replacement surgeries and pre-operative assessments. Work in a fast-paced environment requiring strong clinical assessment skills and organizational abilities. Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre seeks a registered nurse with five years of surgical experience and leadership skills to support our multidisciplinary team in delivering patient-focused care.
Required Qualifications
- Current Registration with Ontario College of Nurses
- Current BCLS Certificate
- Health Assessment course
- 5 years current surgical experience in orthopaedics with skills in Pre-Op and Post-Op care and Patient/Family teaching
- Commitment to patient-focused care concepts principles
- Knowledge of and ability to effectively use organizational resources
- The ability to work in a fast paced and stressful environment
Desired Qualifications
- B Sc. N.
- CNA Certification in orthopaedics
