Job Summary
Assess, plan, and provide individualized nursing care for patients in the Med Surg Pratt 4 unit, coordinating processes from admission assessment within eight hours through discharge facilitation by noon. Administer medications, document outcomes, and verify patient identification before invasive procedures while maintaining a culture of safety and compliance with CDC hand hygiene guidelines. Develop prioritized problem lists, reassess comfort levels, and actively communicate daily plans via whiteboard, representing patient and family needs in ethical discussions and care planning. Utilize technological solutions for resource access and operate within legal boundaries of the Massachusetts Nurse Practice Act.
Required Qualifications
- RN - Registered Nurse
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification
- Emergency Response Training Certification
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Certification
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
- Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC)
- Trauma Care After Resuscitation (TCAR) Certification
- Minimum Education - Preferred Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- Previous Acute Care RN experience preferred
- Fundamentals of Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Administration (FCIA)
- Intermediate Fetal Heart Monitoring
- International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) Certification
- Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN)
- ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certificate
- 36 hours/week
- 7pm-7:30am
- every third weekend
- rotating holidays
