Job Summary
Coordinate, implement, and plan nursing care in a timely and accurate manner. Performs comprehensive assessments on all patients at admission; plans individualized nursing care, identifies problems/needs, and develops standards of care and interventions. Plans for patient teaching, discharge, and post-discharge needs. Functions independently with treatments and equipment, adheres to policies, and maintains documentation. Accepts charge responsibilities and coordinates staff, ensuring a safe, healing environment and professional appearance. Requires nursing licensure in TN and BLS/ACLS/NVCI certifications, with unit-specific certifications and experiences pursued within stated timeframes. Works in adult medical/surgical, pediatric medical/surgical, critical care, oncology, and emergency settings with telemetry and related equipment.
Required Qualifications
- Licensed in the State of Tennessee
- BLS within 90 days of hire
- ACLS within 6 months of hire (varies by unit)
- NVCI certification within 6 months (where applicable)
- PALS within 6 months (where applicable)
- TNCC/PALS/ENPC/TNNC as applicable per unit
- Oncology chemo/immunotherapy certification within one year (where applicable)
- Pediatric Emergency Room certifications within 6 months (where applicable)
- TN license
- English communication proficiency
