Job Summary
Coordinate, implement, and plan nursing care in a timely and accurate manner for adult medical-surgical, pediatric, critical care, oncology, and emergency units. Perform comprehensive assessments on all patients using observation, communication, and examination skills, then plan individual care, interventions, and discharge teaching. Administer medications and treatments safely while documenting accurately and reassessing patient conditions to modify care plans. Accept charge responsibilities and function independently with standard patient care equipment, telemetry, and the Omnicell Medication System. Requires prolonged standing for up to twelve hours daily and the ability to lift up to 250 lbs with assistance.
Required Qualifications
- Earned a nursing diploma or degree from a college or university
- Licensed in the State of Tennessee
- BLS within 90 days of hire
- Able to communicate in English verbally and legibly
- Able to stand/work for up to twelve hours a day
- Able to lift with assistance up to 250 lbs
Desired Qualifications
- Basic arrhythmia within 6 months of hire
- ACLS within 6 months of hire
- Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) certification within 6 months of hire
- AACN, CCRN or CCP certification within two years of hire
- ONS chemo/immunotherapy certification within one year of hire
- At least one year of emergency experience preferred
- TNCC Preferred
- PALS within 6 months of hire
- At least one year of pediatric in-hospital experience preferred
- At least one year of pediatric emergency experience preferred
- ENPC or TNCC within 6 months of hire
