Job Summary
The RN is accountable for coordinating nursing care, direct patient care, patient/family education, and transitions of care. The role supports professional nursing practice across practice settings and the continuum of care, functioning within the Mayo Clinic Nursing Professional Practice Model with responsibilities for planning, implementing, evaluating, and communicating all phases of nursing care for assigned patients. Leadership opportunities include preceptor roles and participation in quality improvement; may involve mentoring and committee involvement. A subset of employees may be required to drive a personal vehicle. This role is TN-sponsored and located at Mayo Clinic sites (Mankato, MN). The position is part-time with a 12-hour day/night rotation and every-third-weekend/holiday schedule; on-site at Mayo Clinic locations.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of a nursing program
- Current RN license by applicable state requirements
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
- Ability to work flexible hours (days/evenings/nights/holidays/weekends) and on-call
- Experience with electronic medical record systems preferred
- Additional state licensure and/or specialty certification as required by work area
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
