Job Summary
Conduct thorough PACU admission assessments and develop individualized care plans based on physician orders and procedure-specific criteria. Implement care pathways to provide age-specific physical, psychological, and social assessments while evaluating patient progress toward treatment outcomes. Communicate patient condition changes to physicians and families in a timely manner, ensuring consistent compliance with written protocols for pain, sedation, and safety. Supervise team members through effective delegation, problem-solving, and feedback while maintaining an organized work environment. Apply evidence-based practice to deliver safe, professional nursing standards aligned with the ANA Code of Ethics.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of accredited school of nursing or education equivalency for licensing
- Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) - American Heart Association (AHA)
- Registered Professional Nurse (RN) - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR)
- Advanced Life Support (ALS) - American Heart Association (AHA)
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) - American Academy Pediatrics (AAP)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) - American Heart Association (AHA)
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Essentials - American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP)
