Job Summary
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate comprehensive nursing care for patients in the cath lab and interventional radiology, including PACU admissions, transfers, and ongoing reassessments. Coordinate daily plans of care, document interventions, administer medications, perform blood draws, and assist physicians with procedures and examinations. Provide patient education, discharge planning, and pain management while maintaining infection control standards and safety protocols. Manage specialized care for high-risk patients, including restraints and abuse assessments, and collaborate with the health team to ensure continuity and quality improvement. Participate in unit-based PI plans, research activities, and mandatory training programs. Variable shift schedule with 40 weekly hours; requires RN license, BLS, and ALS certification.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of accredited school of nursing
- One year medical surgical experience
- ALS (Advanced Life Support)
- BLS HCP (Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider)
- Registered Professional Nurse (RN) license in Illinois
- Registered Professional Nurse (RN) license in Missouri
- Registered Professional Nurse (RN) license in Oklahoma
- Registered Professional Nurse (RN) license in Wisconsin
- Registered Nurse (RN) issued by Compact State
- Advanced Life Support (ALS)
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Ability to pull 100 pounds
- Subject to irregular hours
- Exposure to risk of blood borne diseases
- Contact with patients under wide variety of circumstances
- Exposure to unpleasant elements (accidents, injuries, illness)
- Subject to varying and unpredictable situations
- Handles emergencies or crisis situations
