Job Summary
Casual RN at Women's College Hospital's Phototherapy Education & Research Centre in Toronto, Ontario. Responsibilities include organizing daily Centre activities for quality patient care, providing holistic nursing with inter-professional teams, assessing/planning/implementing treatments, and evaluating effectiveness. Engage in patient education using adult learning principles, pursue ongoing quality improvement, and educate colleagues and students in dermatology. Performs phototherapy treatment and assists with injections, full-body skin checks, suture removal, specimen collection, and biopsies; drafts discharge letters and liaises with physicians and staff to ensure timely care. Leads and participates in quality initiatives, public health forums, and education materials creation; promotes safe, evidence-based nursing practice and contributes to research and clinical trials. Requires ability to work autonomously, manage multiple priorities, and communicate effectively. Teaching and leadership in professional practice and research are emphasized, with emphasis on safety and patient-centered outcomes. Desirable qualifications include dermatology experience, inter-professional collaboration, and Good Clinical Practice familiarity.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor in Nursing (preferred)
- Current certificate of competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Current BCLS certification
- Membership in Dermatology Nursing Association (preferred)
- Dermatology experience
- Ambulatory clinic experience is an asset
- Experience in adult teaching/learning
- Demonstrated leadership and initiative in professional practice, research, and education
- Ability to work autonomously, self-directed, and handle multiple priorities
- Good clinical practice knowledge and safety standards
