Job Summary
Assess and plan resident needs, deliver skilled procedures, administer medication, and document care in accordance with quality management and legislative requirements. Collaborate with residents or substitute decision-makers regarding their preferences and health status, creating and evaluating plans of care. Provide supervision and oversight by assessing physical, psychological, and social needs, participating in interdisciplinary conferences, and teaching RPN/LPNs and PSWs new skills. Act as a role model for team members while fostering team learning through knowledge sharing and educational programs.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science – Nursing (BScN), Bachelor of Nursing (BN), or equivalent
- Current Certificate of Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario as a Registered Nurse or the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives, College of Registered Nurses of Alberta
- Knowledgeable with nursing process, developments and current trends in the geriatric care field
- Effective verbal and written English communication skills
- Demonstrated administrative and computer skills with experience in word processing, spreadsheet and database applications
- Demonstrated interpersonal, communication and teamwork skills
- Demonstrated ability to set priorities and organize work in response to patient needs
- Proficiency in both official languages, French and English
- You must be legally eligible to work in Canada or have a valid work/study permit
- You must successfully pass a TB Screening, Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check
