Job Summary
Delivers quality care to patients through a team effort in the operating room, executing assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation while assuring patient safety. Provides support for pain management, assists families in identifying comfort measures, and formulates discharge plans to maximize patient recovery. Anticipates patient needs, ensures handoff communication, and identifies issues related to medication management and education. Uses discretionary judgment to modify care regimens and participates in unit committees, performance improvement activities, and Joint Commission readiness. Attends educational sessions to improve assessment skills and develops staffing patterns as needed. Requires an Associate's degree or graduate degree in nursing, AHA BLS, and ACLS within six months; TNCC and NIH Stroke Scale certifications required within one year of hire.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree or graduate from an accredited school of nursing
- Registered Nurse - NJ
- AHA BLS - Healthcare Provider
- Previous nursing experience
- Strong problem solving and decision making skills

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills

- Considerable knowledge of principles, practices and current trends in nursing

Desired Qualifications

- 8 hours of Trauma related Continuing Nursing Education (CNE) contact hours
- NIH Stroke Scale Certification (or must obtain by end of orientation)
- 8 hours of Stroke related Continuing Nursing Education (CNE) contact hours
- ACLS (or must obtain within 6 months of hire date)
- NRP (or must obtain within 6 months of hire date)
- PALS (or must obtain within 6 months of hire date)
- ENPC accepted in lieu of PALs for Adult Emergency Room
