Job Summary
Assess patients' physical and behavioral health needs and develop nursing care plans. Maintain medical records, educate families on conditions, and ensure physicians' verbal orders are legible and transcribed. Administer medications accurately, document controlled substance counts, and notify physicians of significant status changes. Complete admission and discharge processing while demonstrating universal precautions and maintaining therapeutic rapport with patients and staff. Coordinate unit activities as directed and adhere to state Nurse Practice Act regulations, facility policies, and corporate procedures. Requires current RN license, one year of nursing experience, and CPR/de-escalation certification.
Required Qualifications
- Must have graduated from an accredited school of nursing
- Must possess a current Registered Nurse (RN) license as required by the state of employment or be eligible to practice nursing in accordance with state requirements
- One year of nursing experience
- CPR and de-escalation and restraint certification required
Desired Qualifications
- previous psychiatric, mental, behavioral, or substance use nursing experience a plus
