Job Summary
Pediatric Registered Nurse (per-diem) in Woodbridge, VA for a pediatric urgent care setting. Responsible for providing clinical and administrative support to providers, patients, and office operations; obtaining medical history and vital signs; performing procedures such as venipuncture and IV insertion; administering medications (oral, rectal, IM, IV); assisting the physician with total patient care within the scope of practice; maintaining room stock and sterilization tools; supporting quality control and safety; ensuring patient comfort and confidentiality per HIPAA; and contributing to team efforts to improve urgent care flow. Requires pediatric experience, active nursing license, BLS (PALS recommended), and strong communication and teamwork skills. The role emphasizes efficiency, patient care quality, and compliance within a pediatric urgent care environment.
Required Qualifications
- Active state nursing license or active compact state licensure
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) recommended
- Pediatric experience (Pediatric ER, hospital unit, or urgent care) preferred
- Knowledge of medical practice and terminology
- Knowledge of medical equipment and instruments
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and nonverbally
- Ability to perform venipuncture, IV insertion, urinary straight catheterization, and medication administration
- HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality
