Job Summary
Prescribe, coordinate, and evaluate patient care through collaborative efforts with health team members in accordance with the nursing process and standards of care. Cross-functional training may be required to learn skills for seamless work throughout the facility. Maintain licensure by the State Board of Nursing and complete behavioral and physical management training including de-escalation, seclusion, and restraint protocols. Work AM, PM, or NOC shifts with a requirement of at least six shifts per month and four weekend days. Sierra Vista Hospital, a 171-bed psychiatric care facility in south Sacramento, offers a team-oriented environment with a strong training program for new grads.
Required Qualifications
- at least 6 months experience in a psychiatric health-care facility
- 6 shifts per month
- 4 Weekend days per month
- 2 hospital-defined holiday's must be worked each year
- Graduate from an accredited school of nursing
- Currently licensed to practice by the State Board of Nursing
- Must pass a medication administration exam before administering medications
- CPR certification
- successful completion of the hospital's designated behavioral and physical management training program including de-escalation and appropriate use of seclusion and restraint
