Job Summary
Provides leadership facilitating the delivery of professional nursing care in Mission Hospital's Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) for patients from newborn to 18 years old. Applies the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to provide, delegate, supervise, and document care and teaching to patients and families; implements medically prescribed interventions. Requires BSN or enrollment in BSN with plan to obtain within 5 years, NC RN licensure (eNLC may apply), and BLS; PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification is required; PICU experience preferred. The role supports a 24/7 critical care environment within a nationally recognized health system and offers a sign-on bonus.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing or enrollment in BSN and obtain BSN within 5 years of hire date
- Current RN licensure with North Carolina Board of Nursing (eNLC may apply)
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider
- PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support
- Preferred: PICU experience (one to two years)
- Knowledge of nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation, care documentation
- Ability to lead, delegate, supervise, and educate patients and families
