Job Summary
Conduct ground and air transport of acute or critically ill neonatal, pediatric, and maternal patients while collaborating with high-risk OB specialty RNs. Utilize transport and critical care equipment to perform or assist with Basic Life Support and Advanced Life Support skills, including initiation of PIV/IO/UVC, managing IV fluids, and insertion of endotracheal tubes. Assess patient and environmental situations to develop nursing care plans, monitor responses, and communicate with medical control. Maintain thorough patient care documentation, manage equipment inventory, and participate in process improvement initiatives and in-house education. Work two 12-hour night shifts per week and one 24-hour shift as a member of the interdisciplinary specialty team at Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of accredited school of nursing or education equivalency for licensing
- Three years' registered nurse experience in NICU, PICU or Emergency care

- Two 12-hour night shifts per week (either 17:00–05:00 or 19:00–07:00) and one 24-hour shift (07:00–07:00)
- Constant use of speech to share information through oral communication
- Constant standing and walking
- Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs
- Frequent sitting, reaching and keyboard use/data entry
- Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) and to identify and distinguish colors
- Frequent use of smell to detect/recognize odors
- Frequent use of hearing to receive oral communication, distinguish body sounds and/or hear alarms, malfunctioning machinery, etc
- Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs
- Occasional lifting/moving of patients
- Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting, gripping and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements
- Occasional driving
