Job Summary
The Registered Nurse will provide care to pediatric patients in the Emergency Department, applying the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care. You will direct, delegate, and coordinate nursing care provided by LPNs, CNAs, Patient Care Companions, and Unit Clerks, tailoring assignments to patient age and development. Responsibilities include ongoing patient assessment, discharge planning, family teaching, medication administration, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to achieve positive outcomes. The role emphasizes professional development, adherence to hospital policies, patient advocacy, and contributing to quality improvement initiatives. Required Qualifications
- Degree from an accredited school of nursing, bachelor degree preferred
- RN – State of Florida
- Completion of general and nursing orientation
- Completion of unit orientation and unit-specific competency checklist
- Certifications as required by the specific unit/area
- Completion of annual competency based learning modules (CBLs)
- Excellent communication skills with patients, families, and colleagues
- Assesses and coordinates care, documents data on admission and ongoing basis
- Collaborates with multidisciplinary team
- Administers medications according to established policies
- Maintains patient confidentiality and ethical care
- Adheres to Cornerstone standards and hospital mission/values
