Job Summary
Supervise all clinical staff and coordinate shift staffing for the 3-11 and 11-7 shifts while evaluating resident care plans and directing nursing actions. Conduct rounds to observe resident conditions, interpret care to families and medical staff, and maintain confidentiality of all resident information. Assist the Director of Nursing by reporting problems, suggesting solutions, and participating in care committees and in-service programs. Complete incident reports, co-sign staff reports, and ensure continuity of care across three shifts. Maintain adequate records, review critical incidents, and recommend changes to policies and procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Other Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing
- Currently licensed by the State of New York
- Minimum 1 year experience as a staff RN
- Current NYS License as a Registered Nurse
- BLS Certification
- Medium Work - Exerting up to 50 lbs. for force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. of force frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs. of force constantly to move objects
- Occasional balancing, climbing, crouching, kneeling, lifting, pulling, pushing, reaching, stooping
- Frequent grasping
- Constant typing/clerical/dexterity, hearing, repetitive motion, seeing/monitor/computer use, standing, talking, visual acuity (color, depth, perception), walking, fit testing
- Occasional radiation/radiant energy
- Frequent bodily fluids/bloodborne exposure
- Frequent noise, odors
- Occasional Travel - The job may require travel from time- to-time, but not on a regular basis
Desired Qualifications
- BSN
- Minimum 2 years experience as a nursing supervisor
