Job Summary
Provide individualized, goal-directed patient care to families and patients in the Progressive Care Unit under general supervision. Deliver safe and effective care while interacting with the health care team to achieve desired results. Maintain continuous standing, sitting, and walking postures, and perform frequent fine motor tasks including lifting and transferring patients. Work rotating night shifts with a 36-hour weekly schedule, including overtime as required. Must hold an Associate or Bachelor's degree in nursing, one year of RN experience, and current BLS and ACLS certifications.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in nursing
- At least one year of experience as a Registered Nurse
- Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs. unassisted
- Ability to lift/lower objects 50 lbs. from/to floor from/to 36 inches unassisted
- Ability to lift from 36" to overhead 25 lbs.
- Ability to exert up to 50 lbs. of force
- Ability to maintain 20/40 vision, corrected, in one eye or with both eyes
- Ability to match or discriminate between colors
- Ability to determine distance/relationship between objects; depth perception
- Good peripheral vision capabilities
- Ability to maintain hearing acuity, with correction
- Ability to deal effectively with stressful situations
- Ability to work rotating shifts
- Ability to work overtime as required
- Ability to work in a latex safe environment
- Ability to maintain tactile sensory functions
- Ability to maintain good olfactory sensory function
- Ability to be qualified physically for respirator use, initially and as required
