Job Summary
Ensure physician orders are followed and provide focused patient care while accurately recording medications and treatments. Perform systematic continuous post-anesthesia assessments, collecting and documenting vital data to measure patient progress toward designated outcomes. Report significant observations to the physician, anesthesiologist, or CRNA, and evaluate patient responses immediately post-operatively with appropriate interventions. Maintain supply and equipment stock, manage drug inventory, and observe for outdated items. Evaluate co-worker performance and adhere to all center policies, including fire, safety, and disaster plans. Maintain confidentiality and display discretion in communication. This role supports PSA's strategic objectives across its 15 Texas locations.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing
- Current registration with the Texas Board of Nurse Examiners
- Evidence of current BLS certification
- Evidence of current ACLS certification
- One (1) year of previous nursing experience in hospital or ASC setting
- Ability to lift twenty (20) pounds
- Ability to lift up to fifty (50) pounds
- Ability to assist with weights of more than one-hundred (100) pounds
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Fine motor skills
- Close vision
- Distance vision
- Color vision
- Peripheral vision
- Depth perception
- Ability to adjust focus
