Job Summary
Evaluate patients prior to surgery, provide education on the procedure and peri-operative process, and assume responsibility for patient preparation including intravenous therapy and surgical site verification. Participate in surgical site verification protocols, recognize and respond to emergencies, and monitor patient conditions throughout the shift while documenting care changes. Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care using evidence-based practices under the direction of the Director or Manager. Schedule consists of 5-8 hour shifts from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. with no nights, weekends, or call. This Registered Nurse PAT role serves birth through geriatric patients at Overland Park Regional Medical Center, a Level II Trauma Center and premier destination for women's and children's healthcare within HCA Midwest Health.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of school of nursing
- Currently licensed as a registered professional nurse in the state(s) of practice and/or has an active compact license
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to achieve and maintain BCLS
- Ability to achieve and maintain PALS
- On-call availability during select non-business hours
- Schedule availability: 5-8 hour shifts per week, 830a-5p
- No nights availability
- No call availability
- No weekends availability
- Ability to work with birth to pediatric (birth-2 yrs.) patients
- Ability to work with pediatric/child patients between (2 yrs-12 yrs)
- Ability to work with adolescent patients between 12 to 18 years of age
- Ability to work with adult patients between 18 to 64 years
- Ability to work with geriatric patients 65 years and older
