Job Summary
Provide direct nursing care as prescribed by the physician, perform nursing assessments, and develop individualized care plans updated annually. Supervise LPNs, AMAP, and Direct Support Professionals on nursing tasks, coordinate acute health services, and monitor client status and treatment efficacy. Ensure accurate medical documentation, provide health education to clients and staff, and conduct annual training on medication administration and infection control. Interview RN and LPN applicants, manage staff scheduling and discipline, and actively participate in the Interdisciplinary Team. Maintain proficiency in electronic health record management and respond swiftly to emergencies while lifting and transferring clients safely. On-call availability required.
Required Qualifications
- Active, unrestricted New York State license as a Registered Professional Nurse
- Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Must be able to work independently and possess sound independent judgment and decision making skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications
- Must be capable of responding swiftly to emergencies, which may involve moving quickly to the scene, performing CPR, and utilizing appropriate emergency protocols
- Proficient in lifting, transferring, and repositioning clients safely when needed
- Maintain the physical stamina to perform nursing duties throughout the shift, including prolonged periods of standing and walking
- Ability to navigate a variety of environments, including tight spaces
- Must be able to work in a team environment
