Job Summary
Provide nursing care for residents in a long-term care setting, supervise nursing and personal care staff, and potentially assume charge nurse duties in an assigned unit. Administer prescribed medications, monitor residents, document health changes, and tailor care plans to promote resident well-being. Maintain accurate resident records, ensure compliance with legislative standards and policies, participate in quality assurance, and support training for unregulated staff. Facilitate communication among physicians, supervisors, and care teams; engage in ongoing learning and participate in in-service education. Schedule: permanent part-time with a 6-shift, two-week cycle. Education requirements include licensure with the College of Nurses of Ontario and a valid certificate of Competency; LTC experience is preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Registered with the College of Nurses of Ontario with an up-to-date certificate of Competency in good standing
- Experience in Long-Term Care is considered an asset
- Experience working with seniors and unregulated care providers
- Strong written and oral communication, critical thinking, care coordination, time management and customer focus skills
