Job Summary
Utilize the nursing process to provide patient care for assigned patients while maintaining professional accountability. Evaluate the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers and coordinate patient care in conjunction with other departments. Maintain patient rights and confidentiality of patient information in a manner consistent with Mercy Service Standards. Obtain and maintain a current RN license within the hiring state or compact licensure area. Complete required certifications such as BLS, ACLS, or unit-specific modules within the department timeframe. Perform duties requiring the ability to push, pull, and lift 50 lbs, along with prolonged standing, walking, and physical movement including gripping, reaching, and squatting. This part-time night shift role supports Mercy's mission to shape the future of healthcare through innovation, technology, and compassion.
Required Qualifications
- Graduated from a school of nursing (Associate's Degree, Diploma, or BSN)
- Current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure meeting all state board of nursing requirements
- Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire
- Ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs on a regular basis
- Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties

- ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course)
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)

- OCN (Oncology Certified Nurse)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- PEARS (Pediatric Assessment Recognition and Stabilization) Six Assessment & Care Modules
- C-EFM (Fetal Monitor Certification)
- Other unit-specific certifications as required
