Job Summary
Assess, plan, and deliver nursing care to patients while administering prescribed medications and treatments as ordered by the practitioner. Perform triage officer intake screenings, check vital signs, and record diagnostic data for statistical reporting. Provide patient education on correctional facility policies and discharge planning, maintain aseptic techniques, and report treatment reactions or condition changes. Collaborate on medical services, recommend procedural improvements, and participate in in-service education sessions. May cover shifts at multiple correctional facilities, act as a backup to the Site Manager, or train new hires.
Required Qualifications
- Active nursing license in the state in which services are to be provided, in good standing
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; hands-on training
- Excellent documentation skills
- Knowledge of the RN scope of practice
