Job Summary
Provide nursing care and coordination within a correctional facility. Responsibilities include administering prescribed medications and treatments, assessing and planning patient care, monitoring vital signs and diagnostic tests, coordinating with practitioners for diagnoses and treatments, maintaining infection control and HIPAA practices, documenting accurately, educating patients on policy and discharge planning, and supervising or training staff as needed. The role may require shifts across multiple facilities and back-up support to site management; emphasizes collaboration across medical services, adherence to nursing scope, and CQI data collection.
Required Qualifications
- Active nursing license in the state where services are provided (in good standing)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Excellent documentation skills
- Knowledge of RN scope of practice
