Job Summary
Provide nursing care in a correctional facility, including administering prescribed medications, assessing and planning care, monitoring vital signs and diagnostic tests, triaging intake, educating patients on facility policies and discharge planning, maintaining aseptic techniques and HIPAA compliance, and collaborating with practitioners to coordinate multiple medical services. Requires active RN license, BLS certification, strong documentation, and ability to cover shifts at multiple correctional facilities; may train new hires and handle back-up responsibilities.
Required Qualifications
- Active nursing license in the state in which services are to be provided, in good standing
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; hands-on training
- Excellent documentation skills
- Knowledge of the RN scope of practice
