Job Summary
Deliver nursing care, administer prescribed medications and treatments, monitor vital signs and diagnostic data, triage intake, and coordinate multiple medical services for patients in a correctional setting. Maintain infection control and HIPAA practices, document care concisely and timely, provide patient education, notify supervisors of incidents, and support in-service education. May cover shifts at multiple facilities and may train new hires; requires active RN license and BLS certification, with strong emphasis on accurate documentation and collaboration with practitioners.
Required Qualifications
- Active nursing license in the state in which services are provided
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Excellent documentation skills
- Knowledge of the RN scope of practice
