Job Summary
Deliver direct professional nursing care to adolescents through geriatric patients by implementing treatment plans, administering medication, and assessing risks of aggressive behavior. Prioritize patient care based on assessed needs, de-escalate conflicts using verbal techniques, and document progress in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team. Maintain a therapeutic community by ensuring patient safety, following all regulatory standards, and completing mandatory education and unit competencies. Begin discharge processes upon admission, educate patients and families on treatment goals and outpatient follow-up, and resolve customer service issues within available options.
Required Qualifications
- Registered Nurse with licensure in the State of Ohio
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- CPR Certification
- Ability to push, pull and lift up to 50 lbs on a regular basis
- Ability to stand or walk about 90% of a work shift
- Ability to see, talk, and hear coworkers, patients, and others
- Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide age-specific and developmentally appropriate care for the spectrum of populations admitted to LCOH
- Effective leadership skills and the ability to build a strong departmental team
- Ability to enthusiastically follow and model the Lindner Center of HOPE mission, vision and values
Desired Qualifications
- Certification of Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing from the American Nurse Association Credentialing Center
