Job Summary
Assess patient needs, develop individualized care plans, and deliver holistic nursing care to individuals with life-limiting illnesses. Monitor progress, evaluate outcomes, and adjust care plans as needed while responding to crises in life-threatening situations. Support patient and family education, facilitate discharge planning, and guide care staff to promote teamwork. Document assessments, reports changes to staff, and participate in education, training, and quality improvement activities. This role focuses on acute pain and symptom management at St. Paul's Hospital, May's Place, and St. John's Hospice. Candidates must hold current registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives and demonstrate CPR competence.
Required Qualifications
- Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse or Registered Psychiatric Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives
- Demonstrated competence in performing CPR procedures
- Experience in teamwork, decision-making and conflict resolution
- Demonstrated a teaching aptitude
- Proficient in clinical leadership
- A strong desire to expand your professional skills and a commitment to lifelong learning in the nursing field
- Valid criminal record check
