Job Summary
Assess, plan, coordinate, implement, and evaluate nursing care for surgical patients under the Pain Management department. Accept patient care assignments, conduct comprehensive assessments using subjective and objective data, and communicate effectively with patients regarding procedure expectations and discharge planning. Administer medications and treatments per hospital policy while accurately documenting patient responses and interventions. Perform post-operative calls, analyze verbal responses from patients and families, and make competent clinical decisions involving management or team members as needed. Provide timely information to physicians regarding patient condition changes and ensure care aligns with evidence-based practice and age-specific clinical needs. Maintain a safe environment through constant alertness and adherence to universal protocols.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of accredited school of nursing or education equivalency for licensing
