Job Summary
The Registered Nurse in the PACU/SDS unit provides individualized care to geriatric and adult patients, utilizing the nursing process of assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Responsibilities include administering pre and post-operative medications, evaluating patient outcomes, and directing the care delivered by other staff. Effective communication is essential to support a culture focused on patient and family care. Candidates must have a valid nursing license, BLS certification, and possess acute care experience.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of NLNAC or CCNE School of Nursing
- Licensed in the state of IL
- BLS certification must be maintained while in this position
Desired Qualifications
- 1-2 years of acute care experience
- OCN Certification within 18 months of hire or 36 total CE in Oncology every Commission of Cancer cycle of three years with completion of 12 CE every year
- ACLS upon hire or obtained by end of orientation period
- Telemetry - Recognize cardiac arrhythmias and institute appropriate interventions
Additional Requirements
- Must be able to respond to the hospital within 60 minutes
