Job Summary
PACU RN provides post-anesthesia care to surgical patients, performing assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care in the immediate recovery period. Responsibilities include accurate documentation, timely communication with patients, families, and perioperative team; administration of medications and standing orders for post-anesthesia care; initiating and adjusting care plans based on patient status, and facilitating discharge planning and patient education. Requires completion of an accredited nursing program with IL RN licensure and BLS/ALS; BSN preferred. Eligibility for providing comprehensive PACU nursing care across age groups (infants to geriatrics) and maintaining clinical knowledge aligned with center standards.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program is required
- BLS certification is required
- ALS certification is required
- PALS certification preferred
- A minimum of one (1) year experience preferred
- Ambulatory surgery center experience preferred
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred
