Job Summary
The Registered Nurse in the PACU is responsible for acting as a patient advocate and providing continuity of care to meet individual patient needs through collaboration with the healthcare team. Key responsibilities include performing systematic assessments, formulating care plans, implementing care, and establishing priorities based on patient needs. The nurse must efficiently manage emergency situations, maintain BLS and ACLS certifications, and document patient care accurately. Candidates must have licensure as a registered nurse in Texas, BLS certification, ACLS certification within three months of hire, and a minimum of two years of surgical floor experience.
Required Qualifications
- Licensure as a registered nurse in Texas
- BLS certification
- Minimum of two years’ work experience as a staff nurse with surgical floor experience with spines and joints

- ACLS certification or successful completion within 3 months of hire date
