Job Summary
Assess patient conditions, recognize deviations, plan and evaluate care, monitor progress, and record pertinent observations while rendering professional nursing care. Delegate appropriate patient care tasks to other staff and function as a team member to fulfill unit goals. Requires current Illinois RN licensure, BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications. Per diem schedule with variable hours based on department needs, approximately six call shifts per six-week cycle, and two holidays annually. Endeavor Health serves over 4.2 million residents across six northeast Illinois counties with eight acute care hospitals recognized for nursing excellence.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in nursing or higher level nursing degree (BSN required within 5 years from start date)
- Current State of Illinois Registered Nurse licensure
- Current CPR Certification (BLS) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) within ninety days of start date into position
- Pediatric Life Support (PALS) within ninety days of start date into position
- Critical thinking skills
- Ability to assess patients' condition
- Ability to recognize deviations
- Ability to plan and evaluate care
- Ability to monitor patients' progress
- Ability to record pertinent observations
- Ability to delegate appropriate patient care tasks to other staff
- Ability to function as a team member to fulfill unit goals
- Availability for call shifts
- Willingness to work 2 holidays/yr
- Willingness to work ~6 call shift (6 wk schedule)
