Registered Nurse - PACU (Part-Time)

Assist in provision of nursing care to patients in a same-day surgery setting, assuming total responsibility for patient care according to physician orders and center policies. Monitor and control supply usage, administer medications and treatments, and accurately assess needs for pain or nausea relief. Care for and discharge post-operative patients while documenting all symptoms, reactions, and physical or mental condition changes. Perform routine charging of medications and supplies, check charge sheets, and maintain supplies and cleanliness in the work environment. Functions independently in emergency situations, provides psychological support to patients and families, and assists in orientation of new employees. Maintain patient and employee privacy, ensure proper bending and lifting as necessary, and meet continuing education requirements for re-licensure.
