Job Summary
Utilize the nursing process to provide patient care in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit while maintaining professional accountability for assigned patients. Evaluate the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers and coordinate patient care in conjunction with other departments. Maintain patient rights and confidentiality of patient information while performing duties consistent with Mercy service standards. This part-time role requires a minimum of 8 hours per pay period, days shifts, and at least one year of RN or PACU experience. Graduates from a school of nursing with a current Missouri RN license and BLS certification are required.
Required Qualifications
- Graduated from a school of nursing (Associate's Degree, Diploma, or BSN)
- Current RN license within the state of Missouri and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed
- Is personally responsible for obtaining and maintaining license
- Must meet all state board of nursing requirements
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire
- One or more of the certifications below may be required based on the position/unit hired to or acquisition of certification within department required timeframe
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
- Other unit specific certifications as required
- Position requires individuals to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis
- Position requires prolonged standing and walking each shift
- Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties
