Job Summary

Manage adult and pediatric patients in the immediate post-anesthesia phase at a 1:1 ratio for pediatrics and 1:2 for adults. Perform critical thinking at an ICU level of care, including management of chest tubes, ART lines, and tracheostomy care. Execute airway management for adults, pediatrics, and tracheostomy patients while collaborating with OR nurses, advanced practitioners, surgeons, and anesthesiologists. Work 10-10:30 mid shifts with self-scheduling, with on-call requirements for nights and weekends. This role offers a supportive, collaborative culture within IU Health's 32-bay unit, featuring diverse clinical backgrounds and opportunities for professional growth.

Required Qualifications

  • minimum of two years of RN experience
  • Requires Associates of Nursing (ASN); Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) preferred
  • Education: The Registered Nurse (RN) must have graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program
  • Candidates who have not graduated from a nationally accredited program may be considered if they possess more than two years of acute care experience
  • Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license
  • Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) preferred
