Job Summary
PACU RN responsible for providing immediate post-anesthesia care to surgical patients in New Orleans, including monitoring ABCs and vital signs, managing emergence from anesthesia (general, regional, MAC), administering medications for pain, nausea, and blood pressure, monitoring for immediate post-op complications, managing surgical drains and catheters, ensuring readiness for discharge, educating patients and families, and documenting all assessments and interventions in the EMR; requires RN licensure in Louisiana, BLS, and 1+ year of relevant PACU experience.
Required Qualifications
- Active Louisiana state RN license and current BLS Certification
- Completion of an accredited RN program (Associate's or Bachelor's degree)
- At least one year of relevant PACU/acute care experience
- Proficient in airway management, pain management (including PCA, epidurals), hemodynamic monitoring, PONV management, and care of surgical drains, catheters, and wound vacs
